The Parish Council

The chief function of the Parish Council is to represent the interests of the Parish to the higher authorities. It is for instance consulted on all planning applications for the Parish. County and District councillors attend the monthly Parish Council meetings in order to discuss policy in relation to Bampton to explain the stance of the County and District councils on issues and to obtain first-hand the views of the Parish Council. But see below for 'What We Do'

The Parish Council meets every second Wednesday of the month in the Bampton Town Hall at 7.00pm. It occasionally also has interim meetings. Details including the agendas for meetings can be found on the Council Notice Board in The Market Square.

Sub-committee meetings are also generally held in the Town Hall. Details can be obtained from the Council Notice Board.
